How to add an XAT (updated 2014)

Hey guys! so a lot of you guys have been asking me how to add an XAT Chat box to a blog. And many of us who recently tried, know it does NOT work anymore for some reason! they only way to make one is to make a chat group which is what most of us are not looking for.

Well being the genius I am lol jk

I figured it out!

1. Find an XAT Chat box. (any)

Now that you are at an XAT Chat box, look to the bottom right corner. You should see a button that says “Get a Chat Box”. Click on that.

Now on the top left corner, click on “Get a Chat box”. Usually in the space below, there will be directions on setting up a chat box, but like I said, its not working.

this is what your screen now looks like^

click that button at the bottom that says “Update and Get Code”

Now copy and paste the code.

Your mouse will look like this when you try to copy it:

but don’t worry, just highlight all the text, then right click to “copy”.

Now this is what my code looks like:

<br><small><a target=”_BLANK” href=””>Get your own Chat Box!</a> <a target=”_BLANK” href=”″>Go Large!</a></small><br>

when you try to paste this somewhere, it will NOT turn into an XAT Chat box (but it should). So what you do now is search for your id.

<br><small><a target=”_BLANK” href=””>Get your own Chat Box!</a> <a target=”_BLANK” href=”“>Go Large!</a></small><br>

^I put my id in bold so you know where to find your id. Now copy the NUMBERS only.

Now remove the bolded numebrs and paste in your bolded numbers:

now this is what you should have:

yup, an XAT Chat box!

        1. I found ur ID, its 210288027.

          Now replace it:
          [gigya width="600" height="300" src="" quality="high" flashvars="id=210227427" align="middle" wmode="tranparent" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" ]

  1. For some reason WP doesn’t support Xat ( or vice versa ). I used this before, doesn’t work. Don’t know what happened. Even the chat you showed ontop ( I suspect it is a chat ) doesn’t show. Anyway it’s a good explanation.
